Vuototecnica

Vuototecnica is a leading Italian manufacturer of vacuum technology components and systems for industrial automation, robotics and handling applications. With a catalog of 1,236 products, Vuototecnica offers a complete portfolio of suction cups, vacuum generators, vacuum pumps, vacuum switches, vacuum circuit components and electronic control modules for gripping, transporting and positioning flat and three-dimensional objects.

Vuototecnica suction cups are the most widely used components in robotic pick-and-place systems and automatic assembly installations. Suction cups are available in numerous sizes (diameter 6 to 250 mm) and designs: flat suction cups for rigid surfaces, single and multiple bellows cups for flexible or non-flat surfaces, and cups with integrated position sensors for detecting correct grip status. Materials include NBR, silicone, EPDM, polyurethane and PTFE for use with different temperatures and surface types.

Vuototecnica vacuum generators (Venturi ejectors) convert compressed air into vacuum via the Venturi principle, with no moving parts and no external energy source other than compressed air. They are available as single ejectors, multi-stage ejectors for higher vacuum levels and compact integrated units with built-in filtration, switches and suction cup connections. Electrically driven vacuum pumps provide higher vacuum flows for installations with multiple suction cups or large product contact areas.

Vuototecnica vacuum switches and sensors monitor the vacuum level and signal when vacuum is insufficient or a system leak is detected. Differential pressure switches and analog vacuum transmitters are used for safety interlocking in gripping systems. Electronic vacuum controllers offer integrated control of multiple vacuum circuits with IO-Link communication for integration into PLC automation.

At Verkopershulp.nl you will find the complete Vuototecnica range with direct availability of suction cups, ejectors, vacuum pumps, switches and accessories. Our technical experts support you in sizing and configuring vacuum gripping and handling systems for your robotics and automation applications.

History

Vuototecnica was founded in Italy and from the outset specialized in developing vacuum components for industrial automation. The company grew into a European market leader in vacuum technology for robotics and handling systems. Vuototecnica continuously innovated in the design of suction cups and vacuum ejectors for greater reliability and flexibility in high-speed pick-and-place applications. Today the company sells its products in more than fifty countries and has an extensive distribution network of technical sales partners worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I select the correct suction cup diameter for my application?
The required suction cup diameter depends on the weight to be gripped, the number of suction cups and the available vacuum level. The theoretical grip force F = vacuum pressure × cup area. With a safety factor of 2 and a vacuum of 0.6 bar, a 50 mm diameter cup provides approximately 1.2 kg grip force. Multiple cups in parallel increase total grip force proportionally.
Which suction cup material is suitable for my product surface?
NBR is the standard choice for dry, non-oily surfaces at -20°C to +80°C. Silicone is suitable for high temperatures (up to 180°C) and food contact. EPDM resists acids and bases. Polyurethane provides high wear resistance for rough surfaces. PTFE coating is suitable for sticky or oily surfaces.
When should I choose a flat suction cup versus a bellows suction cup?
Flat suction cups are the most economical choice for rigid, flat surfaces such as glass, sheet metal and cardboard at high gripping speeds. Bellows cups are necessary for curved surfaces (such as bottles), non-parallel gripping surfaces or situations where the object has a height difference relative to the cup mounting direction.
What vacuum level does a Vuototecnica Venturi ejector achieve?
Vuototecnica Venturi ejectors typically achieve vacuum levels of -0.7 to -0.9 bar (70 to 90% vacuum) depending on compressed air pressure (5-7 bar) and ejector design. Multi-stage ejectors achieve higher vacuum levels and are more efficient at lower compressed air pressure. Vacuum flow depends on ejector flow rate and system leakage percentage.
How do I monitor the vacuum level in a gripping system?
Vuototecnica vacuum switches or transmitters continuously monitor the vacuum level. Upon detecting insufficient vacuum, they signal the PLC for safety interlock. Vacuum accumulators buffer the vacuum during brief power interruptions. Check valves prevent pressure drop-back when the ejector is switched off.
Are Vuototecnica suction cups suitable for cleanroom use?
Yes, Vuototecnica supplies special silicone and EPDM suction cups and vacuum components certified for cleanroom ISO 5 and above. These models are free from plasticizers and other contaminating substances that could disturb semiconductor manufacturing processes.
Does Verkopershulp.nl offer technical support for Vuototecnica vacuum systems?
Yes, Verkopershulp.nl has technical specialists who assist you with the design and sizing of Vuototecnica vacuum gripping systems. We advise on suction cup selection, ejector sizing, vacuum monitoring and integration of vacuum components into your automation system.
