Pizzato

Pizzato Elettrica is a leading Italian manufacturer with over fifty years of experience in the development and production of industrial safety switches, limit switches, position sensors and safety modules. With a catalog of 1,849 products, Pizzato offers one of the most comprehensive portfolios of safety components for the manufacturing industry, food processing, chemical industry and semiconductor fabrication.

Pizzato safety switches are specifically designed to comply with the most stringent international standards, including EN ISO 13849, IEC 62061 and the European Machinery Directive. These switches are deployed for monitoring functions on machine doors, safety gates, guards and access panels. They are available with positive opening action, ensuring reliable interruption of the safety circuit even under difficult conditions or mechanical blockage.

Pizzato limit switches are widely used for position detection and travel limiting in moving machine components. The robust aluminum and thermoplastic housings provide excellent protection against dust, liquids and mechanical shock in accordance with IP67 and IP69K ratings. Actuator types include plunger actuators, lever actuators, roller levers and various adjustable actuator configurations for specific installation requirements.

Pizzato sensors cover a broad spectrum of detection methods: inductive proximity sensors, magnetic sensors and optoelectronic sensors for non-contact position monitoring. Inductive sensors detect metallic targets without contact with adjustable switching distances, while magnetic sensors are particularly suitable for use in explosive ATEX hazardous zones. The Pizzato VITAL safety controller platform integrates multiple safety modules into a single compact system for centralized monitoring.

At Verkopershulp.nl you will find the complete Pizzato range with direct availability and expert technical support. Our specialists assist you in selecting the correct safety switches for your application, taking into account the required safety category (PLe/SIL3), environmental conditions and installation space. All Pizzato products are supplied with original certificates and technical documentation.

History

Pizzato Elettrica was founded in 1967 in Piovene Rocchette, in the Vicenza region of Northern Italy. The company started as a specialist manufacturer of industrial limit switches and built its reputation through innovative mechanical designs and high production quality. In the 1980s, Pizzato expanded its range with safety switches meeting the emerging European safety directives. During the 1990s and 2000s the company grew further with the introduction of electronic safety modules and RFID-coded safety systems. Today Pizzato exports to more than one hundred countries and has an extensive distribution network across Europe, North America and Asia. The company holds ISO 9001 certification and all products are manufactured and tested in accordance with current EN/IEC standards for safety-related control systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a Pizzato safety switch and a standard limit switch?
Pizzato safety switches are specifically engineered for safety-related functions and feature positive opening action (direct opening action) conforming to IEC 60947-5-1. This guarantees that contacts are forcibly opened even under mechanical blockage or contact welding. Standard limit switches lack this feature and are not approved for use in safety circuits.
Which Pizzato switches are suitable for ATEX zones?
Pizzato offers an extensive range of ATEX-certified switches for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22. These models are constructed in stainless steel or specially sealed aluminum housings and are suitable for explosive gas mixtures and dust-laden environments. Check the ATEX classification on the nameplate for the correct zone assignment.
What safety category can Pizzato safety switches be certified to?
Depending on the model and switch configuration, Pizzato safety switches can be used in systems up to Performance Level e (PLe) and SIL 3. RFID-coded safety systems of the FR series achieve PLe by monitoring not only the switch status but also the actuator identity, detecting any manipulation attempts.
What is the IP protection rating of Pizzato limit switches?
Most Pizzato limit switches in the FR and FP series carry an IP67 protection class, providing protection against submersion to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Models for food industry and washdown environments are available with IP69K, which withstands high-pressure cleaning with hot water.
Are Pizzato safety switches compatible with all common safety relays?
Yes, Pizzato safety switches are compatible with safety relays and safety controllers from all major manufacturers such as Pilz, Schmersal, Sick and Omron. The switches feature standard NO/NC contacts or dual NC contacts that can be directly connected to two-channel safety input modules.
How do I choose the correct actuator configuration for my Pizzato limit switch?
The actuator choice depends on the direction of movement of the component to be monitored and the available installation space. Plunger actuators are universally applicable for linear movement; lever actuators with adjustable arm for lateral approach. Verkopershulp.nl provides technical advice on actuator selection based on your installation drawing.
Does Verkopershulp.nl offer technical support for Pizzato safety installations?
Yes, Verkopershulp.nl has technical specialists who support you in the selection, sizing and installation of Pizzato safety systems. We can advise on the required safety category based on the risk assessment of your machine and the corresponding product selection.
What is the delivery time for Pizzato products at Verkopershulp.nl?
Frequently ordered Pizzato products are in stock and dispatched on the same working day. Specialist models or less common configurations typically have a delivery time of two to five working days. For large orders or project deliveries, please contact us for a specific delivery confirmation.
