History
Leybold has its origins in 1850 when Ernst Leybold opened a chemicals shop in Cologne, Germany. The company grew into a pioneer in vacuum technology and scientific instruments. In the 20th century Leybold developed various breakthrough technologies in vacuum pumps. Today Leybold is part of the Atlas Copco group and supplies vacuum solutions to more than 70 countries.
