Balluff
Balluff is a leading German manufacturer of industrial sensor technology, position measurement systems, RFID systems and IO-Link communication components for factory automation and process control. With a catalog of 1,166 products, Balluff offers inductive proximity sensors, magnetic position sensors, magnetostrictive linear position encoders, optical sensors, ultrasonic sensors and wireless sensor systems for virtually all automation applications.
Inductive proximity sensors are Balluff's best-selling product. These sensors detect metallic targets without contact via an alternating magnetic field and are available in cylindrical versions (M8, M12, M18, M30), block versions and custom shapes. Switching distances range from 1 to 40 mm depending on the sensor type and target material. Special versions include corrosion-resistant sensors in fully stainless steel housings for food and water sectors, and explosion-proof ATEX sensors for use in zones 1 and 2.
Balluff BTL magnetostrictive linear position encoders are the market leader in accurate, non-contact position measurement with resolutions to 1 micron and measurement lengths up to 7600 mm. These encoders operate on the magnetostrictive principle and deliver absolute position measurements without homing at startup. They are widely used in hydraulic cylinders, CNC tool magazines and industrial robots for precise axis positioning.
Balluff BIS RFID identification systems provide traceability and identification of workpieces, tools and transport carriers in automated production systems. Systems are available for HF (13.56 MHz), UHF (860-960 MHz) and LF (125 kHz) frequencies with IP67 and IP68 housings for use in harsh industrial environments. Balluff IO-Link communication interfaces connect smart sensors to PLC systems via a standardized digital point-to-point communication protocol.
At Verkopershulp.nl you will find the complete Balluff range with direct availability and technical datasheets. Our specialists support you in selecting the correct sensor, position encoder or IO-Link device for your automation application.
History
Balluff was founded in 1921 by Gebhard Balluff in Neuhausen auf den Fildern near Stuttgart, Germany. The family business started as a manufacturer of mechanical components and evolved in the 1950s into inductive sensor technology. In the 1980s, Balluff introduced the magnetostrictive linear position encoder (BTL series), a technological breakthrough for accurate hydraulic cylinder position measurement. In the 1990s and 2000s, Balluff strongly expanded its range with RFID systems, IO-Link interfaces and smart sensor network systems. Today Balluff has subsidiaries in more than fifty countries, employs more than 3,800 people and supplies products to industries in over one hundred countries.
